It's a refreshing sensation to be back in the city I fell in love with so long ago. This time I will be here for almost an entire year (Aug 2010 - July 2011). Though a travel blog has never seemed to me like something I could really keep up with, I thought I'd give it a shot. I've browsed some blogs that a number of the exchange students at my school are keeping and more than anything, it appealed to me as a way to go back and relive these moments for years to come. I am, after all, quite the nostalgia junkie. Also I've been told that it will be a convenient way to share stories with photos and without having to retell them on a dozen different occasions.
So far I've just been acclimatizing to the new life here - meeting up with old friends, making new ones, settling into school, and spending time with family. I've made a promise to myself to venture out of the little niche I created here in the San Isidro area two years ago - it is so easy to get caught up in the day to day routine and forget about all the wonderful things there are to do in this city. Luckily, Mark Rooke, my soon to be roomie, will be here in less than a week to accompany me in these endeavors. (:
I can't believe I've already been here for three weeks! nor can I decide if time flying by is a good thing or a bad thing. I haven't taken many photos yet but that is bound to change once Mark brings me my camera charger (it seems that I forgot only the vital things and not much else). However, I did take some photos of my baby cousins! -whose upstairs neighbor I am lucky enough to be... So please enjoy these adorable baby photos until I get a chance to write a longer post:
I miss you all back home, and hope everything is going well! Send me emails or skype me whenever you can. (email: adrianaswain@gmail.com; skype: adrianaswain)
